Thank you to the The John T. Austin Memorial Fund for their generous donation to the program. John played for the Manets as a child and had fond memories of his time playing in the Quincy Youth Football and Cheer program.
Firefighter John T. Austin was a son, grandson, father, nephew, cousin, and friend who made us proud of his accomplishments and unselfish acts of kindness. He always gave 100% to being a Marine and firefighter, placing others before himself.
John grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts and was a member of the City of Quincy Fire Department for 11 years. He especially enjoyed working at Engine 5.
On July 8th, 2013, John died while responding to a call. As a way of giving back to the community in John’s name, the proceeds from our memorial golf tournament are used to fund scholarships for a graduating senior from a Quincy school and seniors who have a family member on the Quincy Fire Department. We also have been able to provide donations to the Quincy High/NQH Alumni, William R. Caddy Marine Corps League Detachment 124 and Quincy Youth Football.
